Behind the Scenes: Making a Healthy Foods Dilation Chart with Arley

Hey! Cheyenne, the editor here! The first issue of Everyday Birth Magazine included so many amazing contributors. One of those folks is Arley Arrington (@arley.cakes) of Richmond, VA, a baker who uses her cake-making skills to promote social justice.

It was my absolute joy to go into the kitchen with Arley to create the Healthy Foods Dilation Chart. What you eat is always important – pregnancy, birth and new parenthood are definitely no exception to that truth. The goal of this part of the magazine was to show foods that are healthy and easy to access or make, so the bread, the boiled egg, the fruit smoothie bowl, the turkey burger, the salad, even the hummus – Arley made them all!
